Megyn's Surgeries

We found a new doctor. His name is Dr. Willits ... HE IS AMAZING!!! He said that Megyn needed a surgery for both feet. LETS HOPE THEY WORKED THIS TIME.

Megyn underwent surgery on July 16th and July 25th. We did stay over night for pain management.

July 16th was surgery for the right foot. The surgery took about 3 1/2 hours and afterwards she was in so much pain. She didn't want to eat or drink. Her kidneys weren't working either. She just cried and wanted her momma. She finally, after 32 hours, used the bathroom and they allowed us to come home. She also ate some McDonald's fries. Once we got home she started drinking and ate a bit more. On Friday though, her sisters came home and she cheered right up. She really loves them. She started learned to crawl around and felt so much better. Craig and I felt awful about having to do the surgery on the left foot.

July 25th, Megyn had surgery on her left foot. The surgery took about 2 1/2 hours and Dr. Willits was pleased with how the right foot already looked after only a week. Megyn drank while in recovery and seemed to handle the pain some much better this time. The Saint Francis Children's Hospital did a great job at helping manage Megyn's pain this time. They were so helpful and kind. We went home the next day about 1:30 and Megyn already wanted to play. She ate a ton and hasn't really complained much of pain. She is only in pain when she moves a lot or when she wakes up.

She is back to being our Squishy Bear. She is learning to crawl around and tell her sisters where to take her and what she wants to do.

SQUISHY  aka Megyn ~ 6/11/12

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY MEGYN!!!!

Reflecting on what has gone on these past two years is very overwhelming to me. We have been through so much with her and are not done, by a long shot! Look at those little feet in the picture, you can see the club feet still. WE ARE GOING TO FIX IT THOUGHT!!! Megyn has been in cast a total of 18 months, had 3 sets of AFO's, 1 set of night time shoes and has had 1 surgery on both her feet. We are about to undergo a surgery for the right foot on July 16, 2012 and one for the left on July 25, 2012. She has a long road ahead of her but not a long as it was just two short years ago. My heart still breaks when I look at her and feel like I had a part in doing this to her. I still feel like something I took somewhere along the way, of my pregnancy, caused it. I hate that we have to do more surgeries and that she will be in a wheel chair and have to learn to walk again! But ... I know this is what we need and God sent us to Dr. Willits, he is an amazing doctor.  I know God is wonderful and has done such great things for our Megyn so far!!! He will continue to show his greatness and GOD WILL SHOW THAT HE IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!!

Please continue to pray with us for healing.
I will post about her surgery as soon as I get home and get her situated!

Wow, It has been so long since I have posted on here. Life has flown by, almost 1 year. We now have a 2 year old Squishy. She is so happy and adorable. We are all so in love with her and anyone that meets her feels the same way.

We continue to work on her feet. We are now seeing a new doctor. I'd like to say that Dr. Capehart was no providing the care that Megyn needed. I have been noticing that Megyn walks almost on top of her right foot and struggles more and more each day. She is in pain and it is noticeable when watching her. Watching her sweet face and seeing her not be able to do what she wants to do hurt us and made us want more for her. We searched after more casting for the answers. Then it came (Thank you Mr. Riley) from a friend.

Dr. Willits is her new doctor. He is a St. Francis doctor as well. He specializes in club feet. Megyn's appointment was yesterday, 6-7-12 and we had answers. He asked me what we had done and then told me what he wanted to do. He wanted to do two surgeries in ten days. The first will be performed on July 16, 2012 on the right foot. The second will be July 25, 2012 on the left foot. The first surgery will take up to five hours. The surgery on the right foot will have tendon releases and one to two pins put in her foot. There are more thing being done but I can't recall all of it. The second surgery will be on the left foot with tendon releases. There will be three incisions on both feet.

I will update after the surgery on July 16th. We ask that you pray for a fast recovery and a less pain as possible.

THANK YOU ALL!!!
