Premonitions

Do you believe in premonitions? I never really did but when your child that does not speak well tells you to stay home then the words "Mommy die, why? Mommy die, why?Mommy stay please!" you stay home!

I was getting ready this evening to venture out. The  ground and roads are covered in snow and ice. I just needed to run to the store and get some dish soap. I was walking around the house finding my shoes and Megyn grabs my legs and looks up at me and says "stay momma, stay momma, no go, please". I think nothing of it and pry her off my leg.

As I am getting ready to leave she looks at me and says "Mommy die, why? Mommy die, why? Mommy stay please!" I say "baby what's the matter" she replies "mommy no die please." Ugh ... that stuck right through my heart. I ask her if I go am I going to die if I go bye-bye and she says "yes, momma why die".  I tell her I am staying home and she grabs me jumping up and down cheering.

I am not sure what that was but it scared me and her bad enough that I stayed at home. I sit here typing this wondering what just happened. Was it a premonition? What ever it was I listened!

Mommy loves you Squishy Bear!

So many updates...

Megyn's Feet ...
It has been quite some time that I have update Megyn's blog. She has been doing great. She continues to walk with little difficulty. She has a slight turn in her right foot. She has worn AFO's for a while now and will need to go back to the doctor for a reevaluation.

The last time I spoke to Dr. Willits he wanted to do another surgery on Megyn's feet. He wanted to take the tendon on top, cut it and relocate it to the fourth toe. He said it would correct the inward turn she is having. Craig and I are not sure we are ready for that and have waited about 6 months to see if the problem would correct on its own.

We have an appointment during Spring Break to discuss her feet and options to help the inward turn. I worry as she ages her feet will give her problems and she will wonder why we didn't do something about them ... well more for them.

Have we done enough? Only time will tell.

School ...
Megyn has started Headtstart this year. She still wasn't talking so with much prayer and consideration she was placed on an IEP for speech services. She receives 40 minutes a week and has flourished. She had a vocabulary of about 20 -30 words when she started. She now talks sentences. She loves to talk and share her new words with us.

She should start Pre-K next year. I am contemplating about her being in my room. I may be asking for it or it could go great!

Megyn now loves to put on mommy's boots ... isn't she cute!!!
